                CITY LIGHTS BOOKSTORE UPDATE
                Regarding COVID-19

                (Updated 3/16/20)

In compliance with San Francisco Mayor London Breed's Public Health Order, City Lights Bookstore will be closing for business as of 6pm Monday 3/16. Since all residents are being asked to shelter in place until April 7, we will unfortunately be unable to fulfill website orders. We're genuinely sorry to be unable to send books to you at this critical time for all of us, and we appreciate your understanding and support. Everyone, please be well, stay healthy, keep your loved ones close through the distancing, and when it's safe, please come back to see us at the bookstore.

All of our scheduled events through the end of April have also been canceled. We're hoping some of these are merely postponed, and we’ll be working to reschedule anything we can for later in the year. We also hope to be back in touch soon with some ideas about alternate ways we can support and connect you with the authors and publishers who have suddenly lost this opportunity for direct contact with readers. Please stay tuned about that!

                A novel
                Valeria Luiselli
Lost Children Archive is a novel about archiving all that we don't want to lose. Luiselli looks into the American present as well as its history: into Native American history, and the many intersections between American and Mexican history that are and have always been there. This is the perfect American road trip novel for right now. —Tommy Orange
